Sign Out of a Computer

Overview

For the security and privacy of our campus community, it is critical that you always log out of your active session when using any public computer on campus, including those in computer labs, classrooms, and the library. Leaving a session open creates a security risk that could expose personal information, allow unauthorized access to university resources, and prevent the next person from properly accessing the computer.

Steps

Windows 11

  1. Click on the Start menu (Windows logo) in the taskbar.
  2. Click your name in the bottom left of the menu.
  3. Click Sign out.

 

macOS

  1. Click the Apple menu in the top left corner.
  2. Click Log Out.
