Install Microsoft Office 365

Overview

Microsoft Office 365 is available to all faculty, staff, and students at no cost.

This software is licensed through your Providence College Microsoft 365 account. The license will exist so long as your account exists. As long as you are an active student or employee, you will have access to the software.

Microsoft Office is pre-installed as part of the standard configuration for all college-owned computers.

 

Install Office 365

Windows

  1. Go to https://www.office.com/apps/.
  2. Sign in with your Providence College credentials.
  3. Click Install Apps on the top right of the home page.
  4. Click Microsoft 365 apps.
  5. Click Install Office.
  6. Once the installer is finished downloading, click on the downloaded file to open it.
  7. If you see a prompt that says, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? click Yes to begin the installation process.
  8. Once the installation is complete, click Close.
  9. Open one of the Microsoft Office apps (Word, Outlook, etc) and sign in with your Providence College credentials and accept the license agreement. If you sign in to Windows with your Providence College account, you will be automatically signed in to Office.

MacOS

  1. Go to https://www.office.com/apps/.
  2. Sign in with your Providence College credentials.
  3. Click Install Apps on the top right of the home page.
  4. Click Microsoft 365 apps.
  5. Click Install Office.
  6. Once the installer is finished downloading, click on the downloaded file to start the installation process.
  7. Once the installation is complete, click Close.
  8. Open one of the Microsoft Office apps (Word, Outlook, etc) and sign in with your Providence College credentials and accept the license agreement.
