Overview
When you connect to WiFi, a profile is created and stored on your computer to make it easier to connect again and again. Forgetting a network is often a helpful step when you are having problems connecting to WiFi. If you have changed your password recently, you may need to complete this step in order to get the network to prompt you for your credentials again.
Steps
Windows 10
- Click on the wireless icon in the taskbar.
- Click Network & Internet settings.
- Click Wi-Fi from the left navigation pane.
- Select Manage known networks.
- Click on the network you want to forget.
- Click Forget.
macOS
- Click on the WiFi icon in the menu bar.
- Click Open Network Preferences.
- Select Wi-Fi from the left menu and click Advanced.
- On the Wi-Fi tab, select the network you want to forget.
- Click the (-) button to remove the network.
- Click OK.
- Click Apply.
Chrome OS
- Open Settings
- In the Network section, select Wi-Fi.
- Select Known networks.
- Select the network you want to forget.
- Click More, then click Forget.
Apple iOS
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap the ( i ) icon next to the network you want to forget.
- Tap Forget This Network, then tap Forget to confirm.
Android
Please note that Android devices may have differences in the user interface.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Network & internet.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Locate the network you want to forget and tap or press and hold it.
- Tap Forget.
