How to find your MAC address

Overview

The MAC address is a unique identifier of a network adapter. It is a 12-character string containing the numbers 0 to 9 and letters A to F. Example: 00-9B-AC-7F-26-E3

Below, you will find instructions on how to find the MAC address (aka physical address, hardware address, Wi-Fi address, Ethernet address) of the most common devices we see on campus. If your device is not listed or our instructions don’t match it exactly, you can usually find it by searching online “how to find [type of device] MAC address” or by looking for a sticker on the device itself or its packaging.
