Uninstall Pharos

Overview

Providence College has moved to a new system for PC Prints. To remove the Pharos PC Prints printers from your device, follow the steps below.

Steps

Windows

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click Apps.
  3. Select Pharos, then click Uninstall.
  4. A message will say “This app and its related info will be uninstalled.” Click Uninstall.
  5. Click Yes to allow this app to make changes to your computer.
  6. Select Run Uninstaller, then click Next.
  7. A message will say “Welcome to the Pharos Uninstallation program.” Click Next.
  8. Select all components, then click Next.
  9. A message will say “This application has detected Pharos in the following folder.” Click Next.
  10. A message will say “You are now ready to remove the selected components of Pharos.” Click Start.
  11. Once the uninstallation is complete, click Finish.

MacOS

  1. Open System Settings.
  2. Click Printers & Scanners
  3. Select PC_Prints_Xerox. Then click Remove Printer. On the next pop up, click Remove Printer once again. Repeat this for PC_Prints_HP_Laserjet. (On older versions of MacOS, you may have to click the "minus sign" at the bottom of the printer list to remove the printers.)
  4. Once printers have been removed, click on Spotlight Search (the magnifying glass in the menu bar on the top right corner of your screen).
  5. In the search field, copy/paste the following: /Library/Application Support/Pharos/Utilities
  6. In the search results under "Folders" is a folder called Utilities. Click to open. 
  7. In the folder, click on the Uninstaller.app.
  8. Check the box for Pharos Popup. Click Continue. 
  9. Enter your password to make the change. Once it has uninstalled, click Done.
