Install PC Prints

Overview

PC Prints is a print release system that allows students to print to public printers via computers in labs and clusters on campus, students’ personally owned computers, and mobile devices.

Steps

From the iHelp Website

All personal devices must install the PC Prints drivers from the iHelp website. The drivers are available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices.

  1. Visit the iHelp website at https://ihelp.providence.edu/printing/pc-prints.
  2. Under Printer Downloads, click Download PC Prints to be redirected to the download page.
    1. The website should automatically detect the type of device, but if it is incorrect, select your device type at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click Download.
  4. Once the download is complete, open the downloaded file. You may need to look in your Downloads folder for the file.
  5. Follow the installation instructions. When prompted to sign in, enter your NetID and network password.
  6. Once the install is complete, click Finish.

 

Windows with Company Portal

College-owned Windows computers must install the PC Prints drivers through the Company Portal app.

  1. Open the Company Portal app.
  2. Search for “papercut” 
  3. Click PaperCut Print Deploy Client, then click Install
  4. Once the installation is complete, click the green printer icon in the notification tray and click View my printers.

  1. Click Add printers from the left menu 
  2. Next to PC Prints, click Install.

 

macOS with PC Self Service

College-owned mac computers must install the PC Prints drivers through the PC Self Service app.

  1. Open the PC Self Service app.
  2. Search for “papercut”.
  3. Under PaperCut Print Client, click Install.
  4. Once the installation is complete, click the green printer icon in the notification tray and click View my printers.

  1. Click Add printers from the left menu.
  2. Next to PC_Prints, click Install.
