Steps
Before Joining a Meeting
Change Your Settings
Open Teams.
Click
Settings and more ...
next to your profile icon in the top right.
Click
Settings

Devices
.
Under
Audio devices
, select your speaker and microphone from the drop-down menus
Under
Camera
, select your camera from the drop-down menu. You should see a preview of that camera’s video.
Make a Test Call
Open Teams.
Click
Settings and more ...
next to your profile icon in the top right.
Click
Settings
.
Click
Devices
from the left menu.
Click
Make a Test Call
.
Make sure your volume of your speaker is turned up and follow the verbal instructions.
Your recorded message will be played back and then a summary of the call will be displayed.
If you could not hear your message, your camera did not display anything, or your call summary identified an error with a device, click
Show Device Settings
, and adjust your settings before trying again.
Once all your audio and video devices are working correctly, click
Close
.
While in a Meeting
Change Your Settings
While in a meeting, click
More ...
.
Click
Settings
.
Click
Device Settings
.
Select your speaker, microphone, and camera from the drop-down menus.
Once you are done, hide the settings pane by clicking the
x
next to Device Settings.
Troubleshooting
Turn on Your Microphone and Camera.
If your device is connected properly but others can not see or hear you, your camera may be off or your mic may be muted. A red slash over the camera or microphone icon indicates it has been turned off.
To turn it back on, click on the icon (the slash should disappear).
Check System Privacy Settings
To use your camera or microphone in Teams, you may need to change privacy settings on your device to give Teams access to it.
Windows
Right click the Windows start button, then click
Settings

or
Privacy & Security
.
From the left menu, click
Camera
or
Microphone
.
Toggle on
Allow apps to access your camera
or
Allow apps to access your microphone
.
If
Microsoft Teams
is listed, toggle on.
Close all apps and restart your computer.

View permissions and data stored across sites

Scroll down and click

Click

.
Set
Camera
and
Microphone
to allow.
