How to Report a Phishing Scam

Overview

Phishing scams are a common occurrence with having an email account. If you receive an email that you believe to be a phishing scam, use the steps below to report it using Outlook Web App or the Microsoft Outlook desktop client.

Steps

Outlook Web App

1. Visit Outlook on the web at http://outlook.office.com.
2. Select the suspected phishing email.
3. Click on the ellipsis (...) in the top right corner of the message.
4. Select "Mark as phishing" from the drop-down menu.
    

Microsoft Outlook Desktop Client (PC or Mac)

1. Select the suspected phishing email.
2. Click on "Report Message" from the ribbon/toolbar.
3. Select "Phishing" from the drop-down menu.
